About...my work. (the art, the tools, the process)

The art - I enjoy working in many styles and find that the most beautiful tattoos seem to be a combination of an artist’s own inner vision and the elements carried through the history of tattooing in each of the traditional styles. I believe very strongly that a tattoo should hold its essence and beauty (both visually and symbolically) for the life of the wearer, this defining the duty and responsibility of the tattoo artist. I can say without a shadow of doubt that the conception and rendering of every original tattoo design is the greatest priority for me as an artist. I seek first to understand fully what my clients seek to express with their tattoo. I ask every individual to explain as accurately as they can what they desire the tattoo to look like from all perspectives (size, placement, style, range of colors or degree of rendering, visual impact and flow with the body) I also strive to understand what the particular tattoo means to this person (both why they want it and what they hope it will mean to other people in their lives) And finally I inquire in depth as to what I can incorporate that will make the tattoo unique for that person (ties with heritage or culture, spiritual symbolism, family connections, life’s lessons, philosophy, even a simple expression of something beautiful that is hidden to all but the wearer) This consultation process allows me to illustrate to the utmost of my abilities while still keeping the client fully involved in the creative process... Ultimately, I seek to exceed each person’s expectations. More...the tools
